A manufacturing arm of Blue Buffalo pet food, Heartland Pet Food is located on 34 acres in Joplin, Missouri. The 425,000 sq. ft. facility includes a state-of-the-art dry pet food manufacturing plant and an attached full-service distribution center. This facility utilizes a pre-engineered steel structure with rigid insulated wall panels.
Ground-up completion of this project took 18 months and Branco performed all the site excavation, steel erection and all structural concrete. Due to the high demand for concrete, we utilized an onsite batch plant to make the 20,000 cubic yards of concrete necessary to construct the facility. Due to the scope of the project, it was imperative for us to work closely with the owner’s contractor responsible for the installation of the process lines.
