Branco Enterprises is proud to have served as the Construction Manager at Risk for the new Lawrence County Health Department facility, a project that enhances healthcare accessibility and services for the community. Designed by Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc., with engineering support from CJW Transportation Consultants LLC (civil), Mettemeyer Engineering LLC (structural), and RTM Engineering Consultants LLC (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), this 15,250-square-foot facility represents a significant investment in public health.
Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act State and Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, this $5.4 million project is now complete in a newly developed area on the south side of Mount Vernon. The facility provides much-needed space for essential health services, including the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, exam rooms, vaccination and immunization areas, administrative offices, storage, and filing space. A dedicated community room and drive-thru vaccination bays further improve service efficiency and accessibility.
The project also included sitework and a 40- by 60-foot outbuilding, which is shared with the Emergency Management Agency, reinforcing the county’s commitment to preparedness and public welfare.
For nearly 30 years, the Lawrence County Health Department operated out of a 6,000-square-foot converted grocery store—and before that, a 1,000-square-foot section of the courthouse basement. This new facility marks a much-needed expansion and a fresh start for healthcare services in the region.
Branco self-performed sitework, concrete and general trades.
